Since its inception, the JN Racers Grand Prix has been “so nice” that various stakeholders are beaming with excitement about this year’s third staging.

Despite the absence of the legendary Usain Bolt, who has retired, sponsors of the world-class event are boasting high anticipation for what is expected to be another spectacular showing inside the National Stadium on June 9.

With a number of young athletes coming through on the international stage after bidding farewell to the legend last year, this year’s staging of the event, dubbed ‘Stars; The Next Generation’, is promising nothing short of the usual pulsating action witnessed over the first two years.

Among those expressing delight ahead of the event, is promotions and events manager of main sponsor Jamaica National (JN) Group, Carlene Edwards, who believes that this year’s show will give the world another taste of the sprint factory’s prowess in track and field.

“Track and field continues to be the pride and glory of Jamaica, and the Jamaica National Group is pleased to assist with the development of sport as a sub-sector of growth. The phenomenal success of this meet over a two-year life span is not only an indication of what we have to produce talent on the track, but also to organise world-class events.

“It is a demonstration of how much is to be gained from our continued investment in shaping and honing track and field, and the Jamaica National Group is prepared to assist in those efforts through our continued support of well-organised events such as the Racers Grand Prix,” said Edwards.

“Jamaica remains on top of the world, thanks to the exploits of the greatest sprinter whoever lived, the legendary Usain Bolt. And although the curtains came down on his illustrious career last summer, the Grand Prix has set a standard that the organisers are sure to deliver with the basic level of professionalism.
